Almost tens of thousands of Syrians have lost their lives in the escalating conflict between forces loyal to president Bashar al-Assad and those opposed to his rule. The bloody internal battle has forced hundresd of housands to flee across the country's borders and is now threatening to tear the nation apart. The conflict started in 2011 and still ongoing. First it starts because of the long dictaor but now it bacame national battle and cause uncountable victims. I think still there are many dictatorial government and protesters exist everywhere. I hope there are no more country like Syria since Korea undergo such terrible dictatorship.

A post on the president's official Facebook page announced an amnesty for crimes
and misdemeanours committed "in support of the revolution". Mubarak, dictator of Egypt, stood down in February last year following 18 days of unrest during
which hundreds of protesters died. I felt strong compassion to those protesters since I watched a movie '26years' recently. It was about Korea's dictator and I know that nowadays Korea's democratic society is not born naturally but by sacrifices of many protesters.

On November 2012, I heard news that the viral video for Psy's 'Gangnam Style' had supplanted Justin Bieber's 'Baby' as the most-viewed clip of all time on YouTube. The song released in Korea in summer. It made super hit in Korea and then world and finally it became the most popular video in YouTube. It's so amazing to me that Korean song, I listening everyday, earned Guinness record title. In addition, not only Korean but also other people on around the world listened that song is also surprised me. I heard that Korean music artists are not in plenty situation in comparison with song hits. I wish that controversy would solved with this event as momentum.

The addition brought to 15 the number of South Korean items on UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage. Many Korean love this song and I either. I learned Arirang since I was elementry school student and even before learning, through TV and radio I have heard that song. I am so proud of this news and not only to me, most Koreans were happy with it.

The gunman in the Connecticut shooting blasted his way into the elementary school and then sprayed the children with bullets, first from a distance and then at close range, hitting some of them as many as 11 times, as he fired a semiautomatic rifle loaded with ammunition designed for maximum damage. This horrible massacre happened just 10 days before christmas day. So the world felt sorry for victims more. As I posted in december, I think gun possession raises lots of accident through whole world.
9. Whitney Houston
World legendary diva Whitney Houston died on February. She died at the day before Grammy award, so many singers cherised her. I remembered that Jennifer Hudson sang Whitney's famous song 'I will always love you'. Actually, though she is famous and world's diva, I didn't fell that she is close to me. I think its because she is not Korean. However after heard her death, I listened more her songs. Maybe there were a lot of people like me. Whitney's music album sold more and more after her death. The news said she had been suffering from divorce and lost of her voice. Whatever the reason, I think suicide is very very bad choice. May she rest in peace.

12. Korea's first woman president
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/southkorea/9756649/Profile-South-Koreas-first-female-president-Park-Geun-Hye.html
On December, the first woman president of Korea was eleted. She record many 'first'. First female president, first single president, first engineering major president, and so on. Her father was a dictator of Korea about 30 years ago. She has promised greater “economic democratization” for a country that has achieved astonishing success in rising from the ashes of the 1950-53 Korean War to become the world’s 14th largest economy under her father's rule.
Actually I am not on her side but I accept the result and will watch whether she will be good as her words during election.
